Visitors to the Castle
Visitors to the Castle passing through Foog's Gate, the 17th century gateway into the Upper Ward of the Castle. Circa 1900s.
There wasn’t a person called “Foog” behind Foog’s Gate—the name is thought to derive from Scots meaning “fog” or “lichen/moss".
