Armenians lived in the oldest part of Afion-Karahisar
Afion-Karahisar at the end of the 19th century.
The Holy Theotokos of Afionkarahisar is the Armenian Church. The church was confiscated after the 1915 genocide and deportation. Armenians lived in the oldest part of the city. In 1914, there were 7,448 Armenians and 1,200 Greeks living in the city.
