The church-basilica of St. Gevorg in Noragavit was built in the 10th century. It was destroyed by an earthquake in 1679, later rebuilt in 1694 on an ancient stylobate.
In the 1927 earthquake, it was damaged again.
1981-1984 Mother See of St. It was completely renovated under the patronage of Etchmiadzin. A stony stage has been installed in the elder pit. The doors and windows of the church were repaired, the bell tower crowning the hall from the outside, the area was improved and fenced. Argentine philanthropist Eduard Seferyan took part in the renovation of the church.
