🇦🇲 The original Armenian name of the church is not known.
It is an Armenian apostolic church of the 9th and 10th centuries, located in the village of Oghuzlu, Kars Province, Turkey, approximately 35 km east of Kars city and 15 km northwest of Ani city.
The construction protocol surrounding the walls of the church, dating from the end of the 9th century, states that the construction of the church was sponsored by the Ishkhan of Hasan Gntuni, who in the annals of the Catholicos of John of Draskhanakert is Smbat I Bagri Commander of the troops of King Atuni and Kars Councilor. Since the protocol does not mention Smbat I Bagratun, the view has been put forward that the protocol was written in the early 10th century during the Kars Rebellion and Smbatis temporary departure from power. And in another protocol, which is destroyed today, it is noted that in 1001 the church was renovated by the ruling prince Ashot Pahlavuni.
