Her Majesty Empress Maria Fedorovnas Life Guards Cuirassier Regiment in 1917 did not side with the Bolsheviks, but fought with them to the last. From St. Petersburg, the regiment moved to Kiev, then to Novorossiysk, then to Crimea, and then evacuated to Europe in 1920. Ordinary soldiers mostly scattered home, senior officers moved to Europe, and lower officers scattered wherever they went.
