Anatolian College was founded by the Americans in 1864 and served as a high school, taught theology, had an orphanage and a hospital also had a boys and girls school.
The National Seminary operated in Marzvan, S. Sahakyan, Hripsimian schools, Educational Union Cultural Society.
Shortly before the closure of the school by the Kemalans in March 1921, the university was filled with 200 Greek, 200 Armenian and 20 Turkish students. Most of the college staff were Greek and Armenian.
