Yang Kyunjong captured by the Germans

Korean Yang Kyunjong is known for being a soldier in three armies. During World War II, he was drafted into the Imperial Japanese Armed Forces, and later he was captured by the Red Army. In 1942, along with thousands of other prisoners, he was sent to the front to “atone for guilt with blood”. He fought for the Soviet Union. In the summer of 1943, he was captured by the Germans near Kharkiv. While in captivity, he proved that he fought for Japan, was released and continued his service in the Bundeswehr. He fought for Germany in Normandy. He was captured by the Americans. After the war he lived in the United States. He raised two sons and a daughter without telling them a single word about his service.
