Invention of the modern seat belt

1959

In 1959, Volvo engineer Niels Bohlin invented the modern seat belt. Volvo executives believe that the invention of the three-point seat belt was very important to hide it from other car manufacturers and gave permission to all car manufacturers to use their invention free of charge.
