“Fishing for Love”
Playing the game “Fishing for Love” at a play party in McIntosh County, Oklahoma, 1940. A blindfolded teenager sits on an upturned barrel while the girls circle around him, laughing and guiding his hands as he tries to “catch” and identify one of them by touch. The nighttime gathering, held outdoors beside a weathered farmhouse, reflects the simple, spirited social games that brought rural communities together.
