Indian Troops in Baghdad, Mesopotamia (Iraq) — 11 March 1917
Indian troops of the British Indian Army march through the streets of Baghdad following the city’s capture on 11 March 1917. They formed the majority of General Stanley Maude’s force, which advanced from Basra and defeated Ottoman forces during the Mesopotamian campaign of the First World War.
