FIRST PHOTO WITH A HUMAN

1839

This is the first known photograph to capture a human being. Taken by Louis Daguerre in 1839 in Paris, the image depicts a view of Boulevard du Temple. Due to the long exposure time, the busy street appears empty, except for a man who, remaining still while having his shoes shined, was immortalized in history.
