The First Bananas in Norway

1905

The year is 1905.

The first bananas in Norway.

The Norwegians were surprised and interested in the new fruit, and bananas quickly became popular. They were rare and were considered a delicacy only available to rich people.

Direct transportation, especially from afar, was difficult, so bananas were expensive and not always fresh.
