South East Bank

circa 1900

Stainforth really knew how to relax as well as work, and the annual regattas were a source of great entertainment for both participants and spectators.
The events mainly took place during feast week, which was held in late September.
Men's race single oar sculling from the Basin to just past the New Inn you see in the background.
