Apothecary

circa 1900

In 1718, this building in Boston was built as an apothecary, and it is now Boston’s oldest commercial building. For a large part of its history, it was home to various bookstores and publishers, including the major publishing house of Ticknor and Fields from 1832 until 1865. Because of this, it is now called the Old Corner Bookstore. The building was saved from demolition in 1960 and is today a Chipotle
